One eye closed, tight. The mind centres and approaches the bounded viewfinder. Through this portal of glass and mirrors the singular eye wields a new power. The optic vehicle defies gravity, a channel irresistibly drawing images from reality onto media, the raw source for refining and fusing into entertainment and power.
This singular eye, the filmmaker’s gaze, is the catalyst for change. Change in views of the world, and change in world views.
In its 4th season, Reel Earth brings to light the sum of elements, the filmmaker’s final view recast with magnitude upon the big screen, becoming that one view seen simultaneously by many eyes. Your eyes.
Opening night. Cinema aisles conduit you in ordered sequence, connected to what will be moments of insight. Two eyes open, an audience settles in orderly row and column with focus and intent. Lights dim, reels roll, and sound crackles through air to ear.
A retinal matrix of vast proportion, the audience collects the beams of perspective lent by international filmmaker’s craft. Together you gather sensation, image and motion as steadily the pace builds, story unfolds and ideas blossom.
In networks of the like-minded this shared image carries us forward along a collective path. Together, an audience forms a diverse yet singular eye, a space for image to form and impulse to ignite. Impulse becomes signal, transmitted as energy into purpose and opportunity.
Vision on screen begets vision in our minds. It spawns purpose to step forward, to be the difference for a sustained and sustaining planet.
